Google officially extends Google Lens smart photo scanning

Last month, Google announced it would provide a new smart photo scanner called Google Lens for all Android and iOS devices through the Google Photos app. The company has finally fulfilled its promise after months of Google Lens exclusive testing on Google Pixel phones.
The US software giant has just released Google Lens for Android and iOS devices through the latest Google Photos app update, available for free on the Play Store online store.

Google Lens is actually a useful feature, which works thanks to the ability to identify and search information of Google Assistant virtual assistant. With this feature, users can create a contact from a business card photo or get more information about a famous place they captured.
For example, you can scan a book cover to display reviews, scan images of a well-known architecture to search for related historical events. Or if you own a flagship phone from the Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Sony or Nokia brands, just point your camera lens at any object and see the results displayed on it.

If your smartphone already has the latest version of Google Photos, but you still do not get the Google Lens feature, be patient. Google says the search engine is still available to compatible devices.

Although Google Lens is currently "looking for what you see," chief engineer Rajan Patel revealed, the feature will eventually help consumers shop and improve their ability to identify trees and animals.
