Son Doong Cave was discovered in 1991 when Ho Khanh, a local villager accidentally found out when the cave entrance to avoid the rain. After a period of time until 2006, when the British Royal Caves Association explored the area, Ho Khanh informed them. Entrance to Son Doong Cave: "Although these are huge caves, they are almost invisible until you are right in front of them," one explorer said. Hunters discovered them when they saw winds blowing from underground caves. If you are a photography enthusiast, this is a great thing.
The road from the entrance to the cave has a steep slope and it is difficult to navigate along an underground river that runs deep into the cave.
The cave has a width of about 92m, with a nearly 244m wide canopy in Son Doong that can accommodate a 40-storey building in New York, USA. The structures here are bigger, more majestic than any human imagination. The widest spot of the Son Doong cave was Mr. Howard Limbert who explained that three large planes could fly three comfortable flights.
Son Doong cave was formed about 2-5 million years ago, when river water flowed through the limestone area was buried along a fault line. The water erodes and dredges a huge underground tunnel under the mountains. In soft rocky places, the ceiling collapses and forms holes, making it a huge hangar. The "pool" is huge, deep and deep in the cave
Waterfall in Son Doong cave was discovered through a "pit of death".
